PTSC Update: Construction Happening at PTSC

Construction Happening at PTSC

This summer PTSC completed the Early Learning Center, which was added to Porter Lakes Elementary School. This was essential to free up space within Porter Lakes, which had been taken by our growing preschool program, and to give our preschoolers appropriate, dedicated space. This early learning space now consists of four classrooms (with restrooms), a large group instructional space, and a dedicated playground. Additionally, there is a drive to the early learning center to help with pickup and dropoff safety. It is a perfect pairing for our new Career and Technical Education Early Learning Program that we house at Porter Lakes as a pathway for students pursuing careers in education. The high school students attending this program can spend time working in our preschool classrooms, getting hands-on experience with our youngest learners.

When you drive by BGHS, you may see the earth moving! Construction on our new Wastewater Treatment Plant has started. While this might not seem exciting, our existing plant was the original plant for the high school and has served the school well, but it has reached the end of its life. The new plant will be up and running in the next few months.

When the new Wastewater Treatment Plant is up and running, we can fully begin construction on some new athletic facilities encompassing the area where the old Wastewater Treatment Plant was located. The new athletic complex, located south of the current softball field, will include a full turf playing surface for football and soccer teams, an 8-lane synthetic track (and all field event areas), and an indoor facility that will house locker rooms, concession stands, restrooms, weight room (for use by teams and physical education classes), and wrestling areas. While these projects depend on the weather, the targeted completion date is late August 2023.
