PTSC Update: Adding Two Online Days to BGHS Calendar

Adding Two Online Days to BGHS Calendar (January 26, 2023, and April 20, 2023)

Based on parent and student feedback, we have added two Synchronous (live instruction) eLearning Days to our schedule for the second semester. When surveyed, 96% of parents and 89% of students were in support of additional Synchronous eLearning days in the second semester. We will use these days to analyze PSAT data and create a plan to focus and improve instruction to improve SAT scores for our March 2nd test. On the first day on Thursday, January 26th, 2023, BGHS will analyze the PSAT data of junior students to continue to plan to improve student scores. They will look at student data to create a plan to focus instructional needs as individual teachers, departments, and as a full school. On Thursday, April 20th, BGHS will evaluate the effectiveness of the plan from this year and create a plan and make adjustments for next year’s SAT including course adjustments, master schedule changes, and instructional practices for next school year.

Vocational and LRE Courses

In an effort to limit disruption, we will hold all regularly scheduled vocational courses.  All students will attend in a normal fashion.  Similarly, we will arrange our schedule so that our students who take vocational courses off-site, will have the opportunity to attend synchronous learning with little disruption (we will schedule an office hours time from roughly 10-10:30, which should allow afternoon students to return from vocational before their 5th-hour starts,  and morning students to attend without disruption). Additionally, students who attend our LRE program at BGHS will attend in person on those days.

Transportation

All normally scheduled LRE and vocational transportation will run as scheduled.

The BGHS synchronous eLearning day schedule:

1st Period 8:00am – 8:25am

2nd Period 8:30am – 8:55am
