Early Learning at Porter Lakes Elementary School
Our Early Learning Center is up and running with four classrooms filled with three and four-year-old students this year. Our new classrooms, large group learning area, and dropoff and pickup drive have been a welcome addition to the building. This year we also welcomed a new program we began for high school students who wish to explore a career in Early Childhood. High school juniors and seniors attend classes at PLE and are able to do fieldwork in our early learning classrooms as part of their experiences while receiving high school credit, and dual credit for college, and will also walk away with certifications for employment.

PTSC Standouts:

Congratulations to our BGE Science Bowl Team that competed last week. They put in a lot of early mornings and practices. This year they placed 9th in their division, placing in the STATE TOP 10 of their class. Mrs. Rippe is so proud of all the hard work the team put in this year! Great job, BGE Science Bowl!

The BGHS Theatre Troupe had the opportunity to attend a State level workshop at St. Mary’s in Notre Dame. The time was spent working, learning, and growing with other theatre students. The BGHS troupe participated in Improv, Puppeteer, Public Communication (Toastmasters International), and leadership classes. What a great opportunity for our great group of kids to continue to expand and develop their interests and talents!

Congratulations to Blake Clinton for finishing in 2nd Place in the Northwest Indiana Middle School Junior Varsity Bowling tournament. Impressive!

Congratulations to our BGHS cheer team on winning the PCC Cheer Competition! You make us proud, and winning the Cheer Competition is a fabulous accomplishment!
